We, the Melcher family, manage the Karnerhof honestly and knowledgeably. Each person in our management team is involved in important decision-making and is able to play a part, to show initiative and to contribute to the improvement and further development of the business. Areas of responsibility are clearly structured and each of our department managers is continually striving to motivate and encourage his staff. The Melcher family are always prepared to listen to and help staff with their needs and wishes -professional as well as private.

We employ the best available staff in all sectors of our business, who support the philosophy of the hotel and are always endeavour our guests have what they need. It is very important for us, to create an excellent working climate and an atmosphere of teamwork and cohesion.

We are always expanding through self-reliant and responsible work, with good co-operation within and between departments, by implementing suggestions from our guests and our staff, as well as by means of the strong commitment to quality and service. Staff is given further training in accordance with the training concept devised by department managers, to meet the high standards in future and the high level quality and service requirements.

We at the Karnerhof are caring and consequently good relationships with those around us. This includes amongst others - neighbours, suppliers, the police, authorities, banks and other public services.

To keep up a high standard of quality for our services, input from our co-operation partners ("Wellness hotels", "Best Health") are binding. We regularly check our guests' satisfaction with our tools "Wellness barometer"and "Mystery Check".

In all sectors of the business only the very best products are used, which satisfy the highest quality requirements. As far as is possible we make use of the strengths of our surroundings, using and processing above all products from regional suppliers and producers.

We take the desires and suggestions of our guests seriously and see it as our duty, to raise our quality standards.

Protecting the environment is an important concern for the "Karner" family. We are careful when dealing with our surroundings and pay careful attention to natural resources. We are prudent and responsible in disposing of our rubbish and sewerage and look for exemplary answers in the areas of packaging matters. We consider waste prevention, re-use, recycling and overall responsible and careful handling of natural resources as our contribution to maintaining and protecting our environment.

For us, the Melcher family, access to artwork is very important. By living with and integrating art into the business we want to give our staff and guests access too. The Melcher family offers Carinthian artists in the Karnerhof the framework, space and place for their art.

The Karnerhof is set to remain a family run business, also in the next generation. The succession by family members is assured and will be arranged by the end of 2007.
