Golfing holiday in Carinthia – near the Dreiländereck where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet: thanks to its convenient location, mild climate and spectacularly situated golf courses, it’s no surprise that Carinthia is one of Europe’s most desirable golfing destinations.
Beautiful fairways. Meticulously groomed and manicured greens. Idyllic ponds with reed-grown shorelines. Varied vistas of mountain ranges and Alpine lakes. Some 12 golf courses in three different countries await your discovery within a ten to 45 minute drive from the Hotel Karnerhof. This easy access makes it possible for Karnerhof guests to savour leisurely, sunny hours on the greens of the most scenic golf courses in Carinthia, Slovenia and Italy.
Good to know: Golf insiders have long considered Austria’s southernmost state as a secret tip for golfers. In 2016 Carinthia was named one of the top golf destinations at the international IGTM golfing convention in Mallorca. A jury of 230 golf and travel journalists from 36 different named Carinthia the Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year 2017.
For our weekly golf excursions, we usually take our guests to the Schloss Finkenstein Golf Club. The course is just ten minutes away from the hotel. For me, a round on this course at the foot of the Karawank mountain range is just a beautiful experience, every time.
The attractive 18-hole Schloss Finkenstein Golf Club is just a few minutes away from the Karnerhof by car, in an idyllic, slightly hilly setting without steep slopes or large variations in altitude. Our partner golf course has an open, inviting character with broad fairways, scenic ponds and a spectacular view of the Karawank mountain range and the Dobratsch. Recommendation: after a day on the course, savour a drink on the terrace of the 400-year old palace that serves as the clubhouse
Eagle, birdie and par: take in the glories of nature, the varied greens and pick out your own favourite golf course in the Dreiländereck region. You can choose between three, four or five green fees, and in the spring and autumn, a second person can play with you at no additional charge. We’ve put together special Golf Packages for lovers of the sport. In addition to the reduced prices and special offers with the Alpe Adria Golf Card, you’ll also enjoy our gourmet half board plan, the Karnerhof’s extensive range of inclusive services, and many other golfing extras.
