Pleasure in the eye of the beholder.
Art & Design at the Karnerhof.
Art is a vacation from everyday life - and it was with this motto in mind that Hans and Adi Melcher began developing the Karnerhof in terms of art and design over 30 years ago. From the very beginning, the motto of their efforts was "style". Everything that was therefore tackled in terms of design, from the first to the last major renovation in 2022, was aimed at being subtle, beautiful and of high quality.
This refined style permeates everything from the design to the cuisine and the refined treatment of people. In the culinary arts, too, finesse is reflected in the way products and nature are treated, in appreciation, sustainability and regionality. This refined style is due to the Melcher family's affection for art and design as well as the Mediterranean and Italian influence.
Thanks to its noble style and artistic orientation, the Karnerhof is still very much characterized by culinary delights, art, design and Italian-Alpine flair. Over the decades, the Melcher family has set many accents, culinary, social - and above all subtle. This orientation has remained.
Art in the Karnerhof.
The Arthotel on Lake Faak.
It all began with an oil painting of the birthplace of the current owners' grandmother, which was commissioned from Hans Laber on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the jubilarian. Since then, countless works by Carinthian, Austrian and international artists have found their way into the Karnerhof. Each painting, sculpture or drawing has its own story to tell - to tell them all would go far beyond the scope of this exhibition.
But enjoy with us a little foray through the art at the Karnerhof!
